IEI Ramps up Its Capabilities for STEM Construction in Wisconsin
Brillion, Wisconsin
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) programs integrate the four disciplines into a cohesive learning environment based on real-world applications. This blended learning method shows students how the scientific method can be applied to everyday problem solving. The primary goal of STEM curriculum is to increase the supply of qualified high-tech workers in the community.
STEM Construction Comes to Brillion, Wisconsin
IEI served as the general contractor for the $1 million STEM construction project for the Brillion School District to create a dedicated facility for its elementary school STEM program. IEI teams also completed all work aside from mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and electrical.
The project included remodeling an existing multi-purpose room in Brillion Elementary School into the STEM learning lab. The renovated space includes themed rooms that make it easy for young students to navigate.
Environmental Graphic Design features the use of STEM-related graphics, bright colors, exhibit components, innovative technology and sustainable materials to create a stimulating learning environment.
Brillion educators see their STEM program as an introduction to the Ariens Technology and Engineering Education Center at Brillion High School. The district expects to have the new space ready in time for the 2017-18 school year.
