Our expertise includes masonry work in schools and additional upgrades

IEI General Contractors is rare among school building contractors in that we self-perform several aspects of a project’s construction in addition to managing its overall progress. Masonry work in schools is one of our specialties, giving us the opportunity to provide superior quality control for our educational customers.

IEI has served as a school building contractor for projects across multiple levels of need ranging from additions and renovations through new buildings from the ground up.

School building contractors need a multi-faceted approach

The sheer variety of projects IEI completes is a good example of the flexibility we display as one of the top school building contractors in northeastern Wisconsin.

Denmark High School Renovation and Addition – The primary goal of this project focused on a fieldhouse addition featuring a 25,000-square-foot gymnasium and 20,000 square feet dedicated to a fitness room, wrestling/multi-purpose room, public restrooms and an agriculture science room. A 6,000-square-foot glass atrium lobby and a six-bay maintenance garage rounded out the project. Masonry work accounted for $1,270,500 of the $13.9 million project.

Red Smith School (Green Bay) Addition – IEI was the general contractor for this project when the school was built in 1998. We were called upon again in 2019 to complete an 11,872-square-foot addition that included 14,000 concrete blocks and 33,000 bricks. The addition featured four new classrooms, restrooms, a teacher work room, and a special education room with a dedicated sensory room for students who are sensitive to over-stimulation.

Sullivan Elementary School (Green Bay) Addition – IEI crews completed three additions made up of CMU wall structure with a brick veneer in 2019. Our masonry team was presented with the challenge of matching the glazed brick veneer that was on the existing building. We successfully completed the $3.5 million project.
